Trex IPTV: nothing loading? Swap the host
When the whole list goes quiet, it is rarely your Trex IPTV line and rarely your broadband. It is the server address written inside the playlist link on that one device. Putting a backup address in its place takes about two minutes and leaves everything else about the account alone.
The six steps
They are the same six whichever player is installed. Pick your app in the panel lower down the page and you will get the matching screenshots, the video, and the backup server addresses issued with your own line, ready to copy.
1. Photograph the failure screen
Most players print the box MAC address underneath the error when a list will not load. Take a photo of it before you close anything. That address is how the upload page finds the playlist held against this particular device, so nothing further on this page works without it.
2. Open the upload page for your player
Do this on a phone or a laptop rather than with the remote, because typing a long address on a television is its own punishment. Every player has its own upload page. Open the one that matches the app on the set, enter the MAC, and the playlist currently stored against it appears.
3. Work out which part is the host
A playlist link reads http://some.host:80/get.php?username=...&password=... The host is only the piece between the double slash and the colon. Everything from the question mark onwards is your own account and must survive this untouched.
4. Take the first backup out of your email
The message that issued your line lists backup servers underneath the main one. Copy the first of them character for character. A trailing space picked up by the copy is the commonest reason a perfectly good address is still rejected.
5. Paste the backup over the old host
Highlight the old host inside the field and paste the new one straight over it. The port number, the path and the credentials after it all stay exactly as they were. Save on the upload page before you go anywhere near the television again.
6. Reload the list on the set
Back at the television, refresh the playlist, or close the app completely and open it again. The channel list is fetched afresh from the new address. If it is still empty, come back here and run the last three steps with the second backup, then the third.
If the host swap does not fix it
Changing the host is the answer when nothing plays at all. If channels do open but keep breaking up, or refuse to begin in the first place, that is a different fault: telling our fault from one inside your own walls works through it in order. If a renewal has just gone through and you are wondering what changed, read what you actually own is three lines of text. Still mid-install? Use the setup guide for your device. And if none of the backups helps, send us your order number with the exact wording on screen and we will look at the line itself.
