Before you start
- A Fire Stick already on your wifi
- The credentials from your account
Bring Developer Options into view
Work down from Settings into My Fire TV and then About. Land on the device name and press it seven times over: Developer Options stays out of sight on recent Fire OS builds until that seventh press, and this is the step at which most people quietly abandon the whole exercise.
Let Downloader install apps
Inside Developer Options, switch on unknown-app installs for Downloader alone rather than for everything. Granting it per app is the better habit and costs the same ten seconds.
Bring in the player
Downloader is the way in: install it from the Amazon store, launch it, key in the code shown on our Apps page and let the install run to the end. Third-party IPTV players are carried by neither Amazon nor Google, which is the whole reason this step exists.
Log in with Xtream
Pick Xtream Codes, then copy across the three details your account lists — server, username, password — with the capitals exactly as printed. The first load of the catalogue takes a moment and is cached from then on.
Worth knowing
- Settings, My Fire TV, About, then seven clicks on the device name is what brings Developer Options into view.
- There is no network socket on a Fire Stick; an adapter cures more stuttering than a newer model will.
- Delete the installer file once the player is on, because storage runs out fast on these.
